Cowdy St runs north from Pine, and comes across a bit like a quiet understudy to that Boulevard's megawatt star power. Number 16 is just a couple of houses in. It shares the same air, and the same casual flair. A board and batten front porch, and metal roof, and the big blue deck across the back, all give the house a modest sort of swagger. And the stylish ground-floor interior all gleaming floors and white walls, like some Finnish gallery space adds to the sense of being transported a good distance beyond ordinary. The stairs here bisect the house, rather than running up the outside wall, and we like the way that gives the house two distinct halves, and also means there are spots to hide away with the last of the cheesecake. The yard is lovely, and it's fenced, and there's a really good garage down at the end, just past the rhubarb.
